TYPO3 Mailingliste: nicht fragen - lesen!

Hi,

I can't login in BE. My installation ia a Windows machine with MySQL 5.0.

Is it right that this problem exists with MySQL 5.0 and not with 4.0?
How do I downgrade and why should it be nessesary?

Hey Jeppe,

you need to set mysql 5 to mysql 4 compatible (I have heard)
then it should work. I never use windows, but people I do
speak had to make that setting to successfully make it work.

But my typo3 installetion is hosted out in town and they think it would
be a problem if they "down-grade" the mySQL. Are they right or maybe it
doesn't matter.

I don't know mysql well enough to know if it can
downgrade per session, sorry.

but indeed it might be a problem. The 'weird' thing is that I never
did hear about this problem on unix systems.
