TYPO3 Mailingliste: nicht fragen - lesen!

Hi

i just installed Typo3 in my PC and not sure where did i go wrong. I
followed the steps on your website:
http://typo3.org/fileadmin/dl/tutorials/quickstart.pdf
I installed it from here: http://typo3.org/download/packages/
where I selected the source & the dummy version 4.2.1 (stable version)
I got to the point where I have to click the front-end & backend page.
I clicked the front end site and I get an error : "Error page" But
when I clicked the backend site I was able to log in (where i can
menus, categories etc.) But then the problem is it can't display the
site itself.
I'm not sure if I miss something during the installation. I'm
installing it locally. I would appreciate any idea. Thanks

Hello tintin,

that's correct, there's no site in this package. You missed the quickstart package. My suggestion is
you install the typo3winstaller instead, it's preconfigured and it's all in there what you need.

You can try the dh_base extension, it's not working out of the box, but
it gives you a starting base to setup your site.

go to the extensions manager under Admin tools,

In the settings, check the "Enable extensions without review"

run the "retrieve/update"

import "dh_base"

It downloads all extensions needed, all you have to do is import them in
the backend.

After the installation, you get a new menu entry under WEB. (only if you
have no pages in your database, worst case drop the pages content)

set the values needed

Map the elements in templavoilà.



With that way you have a running instance with some already written
typoscript code.
I know the extension needs clean up, sorry for that.

Hello Daniel

I tried this one. but it seems I can't find "import "dh_base" is it still
under Admin Tools/Ext Manager/Settings/ ?

From here, I was able to check my "Enable extensions without review (basic
security check).
and then can't find the "dh_base" anymore?

I also noticed that under "Admin Tools" the phpMyAdmin is not also there.

Did I miss something here?
