Hi
I would like to be able to ftp files my webserver and let Typo3 use and modify these files afterwards. Is that possible? I guess it is possible if the right users are in the right groups. I am just not sure how. Default ownership of files after ftp upload are: techtrans psacln Webserver user is: www During the installation I chown all files to www:www Problem is: - If I create a file using the quixplorer then I can not owerwrite it with ftp. - If I upload a file using ftp then the Typo3 cannot modify this file Can I somehow make the www user a member of the psacln group? Or is there another way to do this? BR. Permission denied So there is various ways to set up the rights. I have a VPS and full root access. Anyone know what is best practice? BR. Anders Hi Anders, You need to open up the install tool and go to 'all configuration'. There you search for 'createGroup'. You will find an option that instructs apache to create all files it creates as a certain 'user'. In your case you want that to be your ftp user. Also you are interested in the options: - fileCreateMask - folderCreateMask Kind regards, Michiel Roos -- Netcreators BV :: creation and innovation www.netcreators.com Interesse in werken bij Netcreators? http://www.netcreators.com/bedrijf/vacatures/ _______________________________________________ TYPO3-linux mailing list TYPO3-linux (AT) lists (DOT) netfielders.de http://lists.netfielders.de/cgi-bin/...fo/typo3-linux |
