TYPO3 Mailingliste: nicht fragen - lesen!

Hi list,

I installed templavoila as a global extension because I have
serveral sites share the same typo3 soruce. Then it is easier for my to
upgrade some extensions for all sites.

I tried to upgrade templavoila to 1.3.8 this morning but I got this
error: The extension can only be installed in the path typo3conf/ext/
(lockType=L) .

Any clues on this??

There are errors in modules in certain cases when TV is installed as global. Therefore lock type is now set to local.

TYPO3 recommends not to install extensions globally anyway...

also very interesting where can I get the version 1.3.8?
current version should be 1.3.7 ...

I have the same issue. You can remove the value from lockType in the
ext_emconf file to get around this.

I have never had any problems so far. Do you know what kind of problems
or can you point me to corresponding bug reports?

Unfortunately that makes for very inefficient system administration when
you have a large number of TYPO3 sites on a server. Being able manage
certain extensions globally is a great feature - I wasn't aware that
this is officially not recomended.

Hi,

I see. This is new to me. It is a bad news to me or somebody who
want to install this widely used extension globally. Any chance to get
it fixed??

You can get it from ter. Or import / upgrade with EM.

You can change it locally for your installation:
- install locally
- open typo3conf/ext/templavoila/ext_emconf.php
- set lockType to empty value ('')
- move to templavoila to typo3/ext

Go to http://bugs.typo3.org, filter on tx_templavoila and search for
global for instance. And you'll find that Dmitry already answered to
this question for bug 7893
